Happy Thanksgiving! Yeah I am day late, but we can be thankful everyday, right? Yesterday I had a lovely and debaucherous day with Mom. She made her exquisite Chicken and Dumplings (sans bones Julia!) and I made the best damn apple pie ever. Technically it was an apple walnut pie. The walnuts were in the crumb topping. I forgot my camera, but I had my phone. So here is the pie before it went in the oven:

Nothing like mile-high crumb topping! Then after it baked:

Mmmm . . .pretty pie. And one more, with ice cream just before I ate it:

I had a bit for my breakfast today, while I watched Pushing Daisies. I will either be amazingly lazy today or do something productive, like clean my filthy house. At some point I am going over to see David’s family and have leftovers. We are making him a video letter since Kevin and Joh are in town and everyone is gathered in one place. He loves the ridiculously short and pointless video letters I have sent him. His cousins came by last night and we started the process–they are actually funny. I hope you all had a wonderful day of food and family and friends. Don’t over do it at the mall today. And if you want some pie, give me a call. It will take me a year to eat it by myself.
Looks kinda like a burger pie.
